Christopher Eccleston (The 9th Doctor) tragically left the show after one season. Although his brief area takes a lot of criticisms, I believe the latter half of his series is one of the most solid periods of the revived show. Although the full story regarding his quick departure has yet to be told, Eccleston gave a little detail during an interview with BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends.
